The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) migrated its VAT and income tax ledger balances from the legacy system to its i-Tax platform. The migration enables taxpayers to settle past tax liabilities and pay VAT and income tax accurately and in a timely manner.

Taxpayers can easily check their transferred VAT and income tax balances via their i-Tax profile. 

How to access Your Balance Report:

1. Log in to your i-Tax account.
2. Select “Debt and Enforcement” from the top menu.
3. Click on “Reprint Legacy Migration Balance Report.”
4. Choose the tax obligation to view your balances.
5. Download the balance report for your records.

Taxpayers have until 31 December 2024 to raise concerns about outstanding balances for resolution. After this date, outstanding balances will be acknowledged and notices of non-payment will be issued.
